Defense should be your first priority. Build your defense troops first and once you have a strong defense army you can start building attackers.
Your main castle should have only defenders in it, keep your attackers in your ops. In all your castles and ops you need to have defense tools. At least 12 tools per slot and the ultimate goal is to have 99 tools per slot.
Set your defense to 0-0-100 or 100-0-0 when you are off line. 80 melee/20 range. When you are online and see an attack coming you can adjust the defense accordingly but always remember to reset it after the attack. When you go to bed at nite be sure to send your attackers to one of our safe houses, do this in all kingdoms. You don't want to wake up in the morning to find that there was a mass attack and all your attackers have been wiped out!
Guardhouses will help repel spies and sabotage. You should have at least 6 guardhouses in each castle and op and level them up as high as you can. At higher levels guard houses will not be necessary and can be removed to make space for other items.
Expand your walls as far as you can and upgrade towers, walls and gate. Build a moat and level it up. You will need a watchtower and fire station, level them up also.
Use the alliance smithy everyday to get equipment and then equip your commanders and castellans. Participate in events to win more equipment. When Technicus event comes use it to upgrade the equipment. Set up your commanders and castellans for specific tasks like combat, speed, courtyard strength, etc. You can rename your commanders but not castellans.
We are a team so be sure to help your fellow team members if they need support when under attack. They will do the same for you.
